Director General
Sorush Raheen was born in Herat, Afghanistan, and completed his education at Stonewall Jackson High School in Virginia before earning a degree in International Politics from Georgetown University in Washington D.C.
Since the age of 17, Sorush has been a dedicated advocate for politics, human rights, and social justice. He is the founder and Director General of Financial Support for Afghan Women and currently serves as the Director General of the Afghanistan Young Leaders Organization, where he empowers the next generation of leaders in Afghanistan.
As a member of the Young International Leaders at the United Nations, Sorush has engaged with global leaders to address pressing issues affecting marginalized communities. His commitment to social change has earned him recognition as a Gates Foundation Fellow and one of the 40 Goalkeepers, highlighting his impactful work in the realm of advocacy.
In addition to his professional endeavors, Sorush is a talented piano player, singer, and professional swimmer. He also expresses his creativity through writing poetry in Farsi, reflecting his rich cultural heritage and passion for artistic expression.
With a passion for making a difference and a strong foundation in international politics, Sorush Raheen continues to inspire and lead initiatives that promote equality and human rights on a global scale.
